A 20-year-old married woman was found hanging in Basundhara village here yesterday, with her father alleging that she was killed for dowry, police said.
In an FIR, her father has alleged that despite "sufficient bribe", Rekha was harassed as they have not fulfilled the demand of a brand new motorcycle when she got married to Munish, a resident of Basundhara village, in November last year. The father also claimed that at least three persons were behind the incident.
"The FIR was lodged yesterday against Munish and his family members following the incident. We are investigating the matter. No arrest has been made so far in this connection," police said.
