Woman found murdered in field

The body of a 40-year-old woman, wife of a veterinary doctor, was found in a field in Parikshitgarh police station area here, police said today.

According to the district police spokesperson, the incident occurred yesterday noon when the woman went to the field to collect fodder for livestock.

After she did not return till evening, her relatives and villagers began a search, only to find her body lying in the field, police said, adding prima facie the woman was murdered after being throttled.

The body of the woman also carried finger marks on her neck.

Based on the complaint of the family members of the deceased, an FIR has been registered against unknown persons, the police official said.
 

Police did not rule out the possibility of rape.

The body has been sent for postmortem and investigation has been initiated, the spokesperson said.
