A woman was found shot dead at Ambad town in the district today, police said.
She was identified as Sumitra Honde, wife of an office-bearer of local Agricultural Produce Market Committee.
Honde's nephew found her lying in a pool of blood with a revolver beside her when he returned home this evening, police said.
Cause of death was bullet injury in the head, police said, without giving any more detail. Probe is on.
