Woman from Kurukshetra dies of swine flu in Chandigarh

A 47-year-old woman from Kurukshetra died of swine flu at the PGIMER here today, a senior health official said.

He also said that another woman, aged 35, who died at the Government Medical College and Hospital in Sector 32 here, was also suspected to have died due to deadly H1N1 virus.

"The woman from Kurukshetra died at PGI due to swine flu. Another woman, a resident of Sector 52 in Chandigarh, was admitted to the GMCH at Sector 32. She was facing multiple complications including gynaecological problems. She also had lung damage due to TB. We are treating her as a suspect case of swine flu," Dr Gaurav Aggrawal, Anti-Malaria Officer, Chandigarh Administration, said.
 

He said that so far four persons hailing from Chandigarh have died of swine flu in the current season.

There have been a few deaths in Punjab as well due to swine flu, health officials had earlier said.
