The man Mandip has been working at some factory in Noida since then, police said.
Today, when he was to go for factory, the woman Madin asked for some sour foodstuff to eat as she felt like having it. He told her that he was going to factory and asked her to buy 'imli' (tamarind) from a shop, they added.
In the evening, when he came back, Madin was found unconscious. He took her to hospital where she was declared brought dead, according to police.
Investigation brought out that both Mandip and Madin were working in a company at Mumbai where they fell in love and she had eloped with him and started living at a rented room in Sector 8, said police.
Police sent the woman's body for postmortem.
Mandip was being questioned and police are looking at the murder angle too.
