A 25-year-old tribal woman gave birth to quadruplets without the c-section delivery procedure in neighbouring Bharuch district.

Usha Vasava, who already has two children, yesterday gave birth to four boys at a private hospital, run by an NGO, located in Jhagadia tehsil of Bharuch district, about 100 kms from Vadodara.

Though the delivery was premature (that took place in the seventh month of pregnancy), all the four babies, weighing 0.852 kg to 1.62 kg, are in a stable condition and kept in the neo-natal intensive care unit (NICU) of the hospital, its gynaecology department head Dr G Desai said today.

The woman's husband, Vinod Ramesh Vasava, works as a casual labour. They are natives of the Kudi Amba village of the tribal-dominated Dediapada tehsil.
