A woman has been arrested at the Indira Gandhi International Airport here for trying to fly to Moscow on a forged passport.

Officials said the incident occurred on May 22 when a couple identified as B Sachdeva and his wife S Sachdeva arrived at the terminal-III of the IGIA at about 4:AM to travel to Moscow.

Acting on a tip-off, CISF personnel intercepted the duo in the immigration area and found that the woman had a fake passport and had affixed a fake immigration stamp on it.

A joint interrogation was later carried out by CISF and immigration authorities and officials said while the man had bonafide travel documents, the women had a forged passport.

"The duo has been handed over to Delhi Police which has arrested them," a senior CISF officer said.

In a separate incident at the IGIA yesterday, the CISF apprehended an alleged tout identified as Sanjay from the international arrival area of terminal-III.

"Sanjay, a resident of Najafgarh, was luring foreign passengers with assurance of cheap taxis and hotels. He along with his vehicle has been handed over to Delhi Police which arrested him under relevant sections of the IPC," the officer said.
