A 28-year-old woman was arrested here for allegedly beating and injuring her 3-year-old daughter along with her paramour, police said Tuesday.
A city-based NGO lodged a complaint saying the woman and her paramour tortured the child and also inflicted burns on her, they said.
The girl was rescued Monday.
The couple used to regularly beat the child even as the woman's lover Venkat Reddy twisted her left hand resulting in fracture, the complaint said.
The woman had divorced her first husband and was staying with Reddy along with her daughter for the past one year, they said.
A case has been registered.
