Woman held with fake currency in Assam's Tinsukia

A woman was apprehended here today after fake currency with a face value Rs 25,000 was allegedly recovered from her, police sources said.

Acting on a tip off, the police apprehended the woman with the counterfeit currency, in Rs 200 denomination notes, at Kakopather Daily Market, under Kakopathar Police Station, the sources said.

The woman has been identified as one Ranjumoni Barua from Tiniali Nagaon of the district, they said.

The police have lodged a case and investigation is underway.
