Woman, her son shot dead by drunk man

A woman and her son were shot dead allegedly by a man in an inebriated condition, at their house in sector-39 here, police said today.

The incident took place last night after the accused Rajesh Jolly had an argument with his business partner Ajay Khurana at their Delhi based office in Mayur Vihar Phase-2.

Both were at their Delhi office till 8 pm, police said.

Later, Jolly reached Khurana's Noida house around 10:30 pm and opened fire as soon as the latter's domestic servant opened the door, they said.

Jolly, who was in an inebriated state, barged into the house and fired indiscriminately, killing Khurana's wife Manju and his son Ankush on the spot, they said.
 

Khurana's other son Amit, who also present in the house, said he along with his father tried to catch him but the accused ran upstairs and entered into a room. The father-son duo then bolted the door from outside and called police.

Jolly, who tried to commit suicide was nabbed by the police and later rushed to Kailash hospital in a critical condition.

The accused had fired 14 shots at Khurana family members, police said, adding two pistols, 40 live cartridges, a Khukri (dagger) and a surgical knife were recovered from his possession.

IG (Inspector General of Police) Ajay Anand today visited the spot. A team has been formed and DSP Gaurav Grover is investigating the matter, police said.

Prima facie, business or property dispute might have led to the crime, they said.
