A woman and her two children were ran over by an Express train when they were crossing the railway tracks between Asangaon and Atgaon railway stations in the early hours today, an RPF official said.
The incident occurred at around 5:22 am when the woman (around 35-year-old) was crossing the tracks with her two daughters, aged 5 and 4, when the Mumbai-bound Devgiri Express knocked them down, the RPF Public Relation Officer for Central Railway C B D'mello said, adding the trio died on the spot.
The Kalyan Railway Police have registered a case of accidental death, he said, adding that the deceased are yet to be identified.
