A 25-year-old woman was today shot at by her husband's friend in Sudamapuri colony of Vijay Nagar area here, police said today.
The assailant attacked Jyoti when she was going to the market, they said.
"She has received injuries on her left hand and chest," said SP (city) Salam Taj Patil.
"Upon getting information, police reached the spot and rushed the injured woman to government district hospital MMG. She is recuperating and has gained conciousness," said Patil.
Police have not yet been able to ascertain the reason of the attack.
"FIR has been registered against the assailant under section 307 of the IPC. Investigation in the case is on," said Patil.
