A woman, injured in a blast last week, died in a hospital at Rohtak, police said today.

Kamla Devi, who had been injured on November 20 when she opened a bottle found underneath a mound of dung cakes at Kundal village, succumbed to her injuries at PGIMS in Rohtak on Tuesday evening, they said.

Her 14-year-old nephew Vicky, who was also injured in the blast, was discharged after treatment at PGIMS on November 21.

While samples of certain explosion-affected organs of Devi had been sent to Forensic Lab for ascertaining specifics of the blast, Section 302 of the IPC (murder) has now been added to the FIR which was earlier registered under the Explosives Act against unknown person(s), police said.

A senior police official said that while investigation in the matter was on, they were waiting for the report of the FSL as well.

Police had initially suspected the possibility of the presence of liquid phosphorus inside the bottle which may have caused the blast.
