A woman was killed while five others were missing after a car carrying seven persons, including three children, fell into a canal near Machhiwara in Punjab today.
Police rescued one of the occupants of the vehicle.
"The car was carrying seven persons. While the car driver was saved, body of one woman has so far been fished out. The rest of the passengers were still missing and efforts were on to trace them," Khanna SSP, Gurpreet Singh Gill said.
Gill said the passengers were on way to Ambala when the mishap occurred.
