Woman killed as motorbike hits road divider

A 20-year-old woman was killed and her friend critically injured when the motorbike they were riding hit a road divider in New Friends Colony area of southeast Delhi, police said today.

Savita, who was riding pillion, sustained serious head injury when the motorbike hit a road divider on Modi flyover on Monday morning. Her friend, Pravin, also sustained serious injuries, a police officer said.

They were rushed to AIIMS where Savita was declared dead, while Pravin is undergoing treatment, he said.

The duo hailed from Uttar Pradesh. They lived in Taimur Nagar here and were employees of a private firm, police said.
