Woman killed as train runs her over in Punjab

A 37-year-old woman died today after she was run over by a train near Tanda Fatak here, state government railway police (GRP) said.

The deceased has been identified as Deep Sindhu, they said.

The police found Sindhu's body today near the Tanda Fatak on a railway line. It was then sent for postmortem, GRP sources said.

The woman hailed from Kapurthala and used to work at a hospital there, they added.

The reason behind the incident is not known yet, but the police is questioning the locals to get more information regarding the case, the sources said.
