Woman killed by brothers in Punjab

In a suspected case of honour killing, a woman was killed allegedly by her brothers in Mari Buchian village near here today.

The victim identified as Nargis, a resident of Buchian village got married to Ravi, resident of the same village, two years ago, police said.

However, Nargis' brothers were against her marriage, they said.

Though initially the couple lived outside the village but they came back a month ago, police said.

The victim's brothers Jeena and Pinka went to her in-laws' house along with their aides today and murdered her with sharp-edged weapons, police said, adding, a case has been registered against them and efforts were on to nab them.
