A 24-year-old woman was allegedly killed by her doctor husband for dowry here, police said today.
Bindu Devi was strangulated by her husband Mahendra Yadav while she was sleeping late last night in Makhdoompur locality, Station House Officer Satyendra Kumar said.
On the complaint of Bindu's brother Vinod Yadav, an FIR has been registered against seven persons, including the husband. The other accused are Bindu Devi's in-laws.
Mahendra has been arrested, the SHO said.
The remaining accused are absconding and efforts are being made to arrest them, he said.
