Woman killed, four injured in group clash

A 50-year-old woman was today killed and four others injured during a clash between two groups at Bhadana village near here, police said.

One person has been arrested so far in this connection, they said.

"A clash occurred between two groups of people here today on the issue of molestation of a minor girl in which four rounds were fired from private weapons," Superintendent of Police, Ahmedabad Rural, Gagandeep Gambhir to PTI.

Gayatri Patel was killed when some people from a group fired from their weapons during the clash at Bhadana village in Viramgam near here, he said

The clash occurred after a person, against whom an offence was registered few days before for molesting a minor girl from the opposite group, was today seen talking to the victim again, which enraged the other group, police said.
 

One person has been arrested against whom an offence of attempt to murder under section 307 of the IPC has been registered.

Police said they have seized some weapons used in the firing and search was on to nab others accused in the clash.

The situation in the village was under control, police added.
