A woman was today killed in celebratory firing during a marriage ceremony in Badalpur area near here, police said.
According to the police, the incident took place this morning during the marriage ritual of 'ghurchari'.
During the ceremony, one of the relatives fired celebratory shots which hit Ikrar Begum, killing her on the spot. She was a resident of Ghodi Bachhheda and the accused youth is her nephew.
The accused went absconding after the incident, police said, adding that the body was sent for post-mortem and the case is being investigated.
