A woman died in the city today in a landslide triggered by heavy rains which caused the flood situation in the state to remain grim.
Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) said the landslide occurred at Indrapur in Kharguli area of the city and also damaged her house.
ASDMA said flood alerts were sounded under the Flood Early Warning System (FLEWS) for Barpeta and Jorhat districts.

An alert was also sounded for Brahmaputra river in Majuli revenue circle in Jorhat district for the next two days.
A total 1.41 lakh people have been hit in the current wave of floods in 213 villages in Lakhimpur, Golaghat, Morigaon, Jorhat, Dhemaji and Sivasagar districts and helicopters and boats continued to rescue and evacuate marooned people, ASDMA said.
Brahmaputra was flowing above the danger mark at Nematighat in Jorhat and Dhubri, Dhansiri at Numaligarh in Golaghat, Burhidehing at Khowang in Dibrugarh, Jia Bhorali at N T Road Crossing in Sonitpur district and Beki at Road Bridge in Barpeta district, it added.
