The incident took place at a village under Utraon police station area of the district's trans-Ganga region where 30-year-old Neeta took the extreme step at around 1 P.M when while her in-laws were away, police said.
Neighbors raised an alarm on noticing that Neeta's house was up in flames and some of them also began fire-fighting efforts though by the time a police team arrived and the blaze was extinguished, the woman and her three children, two boys aged seven and three and a four-month-old girl, were charred to death.
According to Neeta's family members and neighbors, her husband worked for a private firm in Delhi and whenever he came home, the couple used to quarrel bitterly over the wife's insistence upon being taken along to the city.
