A 35-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide by jumping off Mandovi river bridge here today, police said.
Vidya Prabhu opened the door of her slowly-moving car at the bridge and jumped into Mandovi river, they said.
She was travelling with her husband, three-year-old son and another relative at the time of the incident.
Prabhu, a resident of Moidem village, was undergoing treatment at state-run Institute of Psychiatric and Human Behaviour, police said quoting the statement given by the kin of the deceased.
The incident took place when the family was returning from the facility.
She was brought dead at Goa Medical College and Hospital, police inspector Siddhanth Shirodkar said adding, even before others could gather what was happening, she had jumped into the river.
