Woman labourer killed, six others injured in road mishap

A woman labourer was killed and six others were injured when an overloaded autorickshaw carrying them overturned at a bridge over Som river on the Rewa-Amarkantak road, 15 km from here, police said today.

Fifteen labourers in the ill-fated autorickshaw were going to work to the city from village Karri, Additional Superintendent of Police D K Rathore said.

He said that Parvati Bai (45), wife of one Chatram died on the spot, while five women and a man who were injured, have been admitted to the district hospital.

Rathore said that the auto driver fled the spot after the accident, adding that the police has launched a hunt to arrest the driver, after registering a case against him.
