Woman leader slapped in police station

A woman BJP leader was slapped when she tried to pacify two squabbling groups at a police station here today, police said.

President of the BJP Mahila Morcha's Civil Lines unit, Simmi Arora was slapped by members of one group, police said adding that during the melee her clothes were torn.

Arora was mediating in a dispute between two groups of locals. During the conversation, one group got aggressive and slapped her besides tearing her clothes partly, a police official said.

Arora said Joginder Masih and two of his accomplices attacked her while she was mediating between the two groups at the police station.
 

The accused were booked and arrested, police said.
