A woman has lodged a complaint with the police, stating that five of her family members allegedly abducted her mother-in-law and beat her up, police said today.

On the complaint of Bimla Kaur, a case of abduction was registered against her kin Harjit Singh, Kulwant Singh and five others, police said.

Bimla of Alwar district in Rajasthan married Sukhvinder Singh a few months ago against her family members' wishes. Both of them were living at Jarthal Ki Dhani village, about 14 km from here.

Bimla's kin, who were against her marriage came to her house on September 17 and made a bid to take her back to her parental village in Alwar district, as per the complaint.

However, when Bimla resisted, they thrashed both Bimla and Sukhvinder and forcibly took away her mother-in-law Sheela with them.

On their way back, they inflicted grave injuries on Sheela and allegedly dumped her at an isolated place in Kishangarh area of Alwar district.

The injured Sheela was later admitted to a hospital in Jaipur by some villagers.

The police registered a case of abduction and causing hurt against Bimla's kin on a complaint filed by her yesterday.
