Woman loses jewellery worth 5 lakh at a wedding

Gold jewellery worth five lakh, cash worth Rs 40,000 and two cheques of Rs 40,000 each was allegedly stolen from a women's bag while she was attending her brother's wedding in Gebarasdullpur village in Aliganj.

"Vimlesh Devi has come to attend the marriage ceremony of her brother Ram Shankar on December 8. She had left behind her bag which had gold jewellery worth 5 lakh, two cheques worth Rs 40,000 each and Rs 40,000 cash with her brother while she went to eat," Station Officer of Aliganj police station Mukesh Kumar said.

The victim lodged an FIR against three of her relatives at Aliganj police station yesterday.
 

"Investigation was made in this connection and no arrest or recovery of stolen cash and jewellery has been made so far," he added.
