The police today asked Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR) at Burla, where a woman judicial magistrate died after child delivery on Wednesday, to constitute a medical board to probe if her death was due to medical negligence.
"The medical board will ascertain the cause of death and inquire whether the judicial magistrate Champabati Hati died due to medical negligence. The police will act according to their report," Additional Superintendent of Police S K Panigrahi said.
Hati's husband Amulya Badi had lodged a complaint at the Ainthapali police station alleging that his wife died due to medical negligence. Subsequently, the police had registered a case in this regard and initiated inquiry.

The autopsy was conducted on Thursday. The police, however, is yet to receive the autopsy report.
