The woman was employed in a 'dhaba' owned by one Hardeep Singh near the SSP office, police said.
A resident of Mohalla Gilzian of Bassi Pathana, Hardeep told police that the middle-aged woman was employed at his 'dhaba' for the past 45 days.
Hardeep claimed that he spotted her body in the morning hours. Following a complaint by Hardeep, police registered a case of murder against unidentified persons.
The body has been sent for post mortem and further action would be initiated after receiving the report, police said.
