Old dispute was suspected to be the cause of the incident that took place at Nua Kandhagochha village, about 90 km from here under Badagada police limit, said sub divisional police officer (Aska) A C Pahi.
The deceased was identified as Laxmi Patra. The others were identified daughter-in-law, five-year-old grandson and 10-year-old grand-daughter of the deceased, he said.
Injured persons were admitted at the medical centre at Badagada and their condition stated to be stable.
Old dispute between the villagers and the family of the deceased was suspected to be the cause of the incident. Earlier the family of the deceased was socially boycotted by the villagers.
