Woman naxal held

A woman naxal was arrested during

a search operation in Chhattisgarh's insurgency-hit Kanker district, police said today.

Acting on a specific input, she was apprehended from Enhur village under Siksod police station limits last evening, a police official told PTI.

A joint squad of Border Security Force (BSF) and district force had received tip-off about the arrival of a woman Maoist at her native village Enhur, while carrying out a combing operation in Durgukondal region, located around 250 km away from the state capital, he said.

After surrounding the village, security forces nabbed the ultra, he added.

The arrested has been identified as Devatti Mandavi, 25, who was involved in several naxal incidents in the region, the official said, adding, she was being interrogated.
