While police were patrolling in the forest area of Abapur, some naxalites who were hiding there opened fire at the police team at around 9.30 AM.
In retaliation, police also fired at the ultras in which a woman naxal was killed.
The body was yet to be identified, police said.
A 12 bore rifle and other naxal material were also recovered from the spot, police said adding that a search operation continued in the area.
