A Maoist woman commander from Bijapur district of Chhattishgarh today surrendered before the Warangal police in Andhra Pradesh.
Maoist Deputy Commander Bandam Kamala alias Radha from Tadwai village of Bhoopalpatnam taluka in Bijapur laid her arms before Warangal Deputy Inspector General of Police K Kantha Rao and Rural Superintendent of Police Pala Raju here.
Kamala was involved in many cases including the killing of four personnels at Kothur village in the taluka during an encounter in 2006.

In 2007, she took part in an ambush at Kanchala village, in which 11 dalam members were killed but she had escaped from police.
Speaking to newsmen, Kamala said she surrendered as she was unsatisfied by Maoist policies.
She said surrendering in Andhra Pradesh was "safe" as compared to Chhattisgarh.
