A woman and her paramour have been arrested for allegedly killing the woman's husband after he caught the two in a compromising position at his residence in Samalka village in southwest Delhi, police said today.

The woman's paramour, identified as Sonu (23), is a marketing supervisor at a chewing tobacco company here. He is a native of Kannauj district in Uttar Pradesh and had come to Samalka village around four months ago, said a senior police officer.

Sonu was a neighbour of the deceased and got involved in a relationship with his wife in a short span of time, said the officer.

According to the police, on October 1, a body was found dumped outside a farm house in Kapashera border. The deceased was later identified as Manoj, who had mark on his throat suggesting that he was strangulated and a case of murder was registered.

During investigation, it emerged that Sonu was constantly in touch with Manoj's wife throughout the period. When Sonu was interrogated at length, he broke down and narrated the entire incident, the police said.

On September 30 night, Sonu went to Manoj's house, where they both got drunk. When Manoj passed out, Sonu allegedly moved to another room with Manoj's wife. In an hour or so, Manoj woke up and caught the two in a compromising position. He started abusing both of them and the duo allegedly decided to eliminate him, said DCP (southwest) R A Sanjeev.

Sonu allegedly strangulated Manoj with a towel and also hit him multiple times with a brick. Once they were convinced that he was dead, they decided to dispose the body off before dawn, said Sanjeev.

They dropped Manoj's body near Kapashera and also threw his slippers and mobile phone nearby to make it seem like a case of accident, after which they returned to Manoj's residence, said Sanjeev.

Both accused have been arrested and the weapons of offence have been recovered by the police, the officer added.
