A Malaysian-bound woman passenger was briefly detained at the airport here today following an argument with CISF personnel over some security procedures, airport officials said.

The incident caused flutter with top officials of the airport and CISF descending on the spot to hold spot enquiries.

Highly placed airport officials said on condition of anonymity that CISF personnel took objection to "abusive language" used by the passenger during security procedure although she was subject to checks by women personnel.

Irked by this, they "confiscated" her passport following which she took up the matter with higher officials of both CISF and the Airports Authority.

Following officials' intervention, things settled down after the passenger "apologised" even as officials warned the CISF against confiscating passports, they said.

For their part, CISF insisted they were irked because of the woman's "abusive language," officials who held enquiries, said.

The incident caused some flutter even as the passenger was allowed to board her flight after some delay, they added.
