A woman pilgrim from Karnataka died on way to the Himalayan shrine of Yamunotri today.
62-year-old Gita Pai who hailed from Karnataka fell ill suddenly between Ram Mandir and Bhandeli Gaad enroute to the shrine and passed away before she could get medical aid, Badkot police station in-charge Vinod Thapaliyal said.
The woman was suffering from diabetes, he said.
Over one and a half dozen pilgrims have died on way to the famous pilgrimage centre so far since the start of the Yatra season this year due to a variety of reasons, the official said.
