Woman poisoned to death over dowry in Noida

A woman was allegedly poisoned to death by her husband and in-laws in Jewar area here in a suspected case of dowry, police said today.

The victim was identified as Neetu. She was married on February 22 with Suraj, a resident of Sabota village at Jewar.

Neetu's uncle has lodged dowry death case against Suraj and mother-in-law Anita and father-in-law Inderjit. He alleged that her in-laws were torturing her over dowry, police said.

When their demands were not fulfilled, her in-laws last night poisoned her to death and cremated the body last night, according to the police.

DSP Dilip Singh said dowry death case against three accused has been registered.
 

Sample of ashes have been taken from the cremation ground and manhunt has been launched to arrest the accused, he said.
