A 22-year-old woman was allegedly poisoned to death by her husband and in-laws in Etah in a suspected case of dowry, police said today.
According to a complaint lodged yesterday by the victim's brother, Rajni (22) had married Rajiv Kumar in May last year and soon after her husband and in-laws started harassing and torturing her for dowry, police said.
When their demands were not met, she was beaten and poisoned to death on Wednesday, they said.
An FIR has been registered and Rajiv Kumar, his father RajBahadur, mother Vimla Devi andsisterChhaya have been booked on charges of dowry, police said.
Police is yet to make any arrests in the case.
