: A woman poultry firm owner was arrested by the Economic Offence Wing police here today for allegedly cheating 120 people of Rs 47 lakh for investment in a fake firm, promising high returns.
Police said the woman had promised them high returns in the firm, which would also give them chicks for rearing. However nothing materialised following which some of them filed a complaint.
She was arrested this morning and produced before a judicial magistrate, who remanded her to 15 days judicial custody.
