Two motorcycle-borne riders robbed a woman professor of Rs 1.25 lakh near Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Uma Shankar Gupta's residence, police said here today.

Professor Anita Jain, Head of the Chemistry Department of Vidyapeeth Institute, who resides in Professor Colony, had gone to TT Nagar in order to withdraw Rs 1.25 lakh from a bank yesterday.

Anita, who was on a two-wheeler when two motorcycle riders who had been following her, snatched away her bag containing the money hanging on the rear-view mirror rod of her vehicle, sustained injuries, after she lost her balance and fell down in the process.
 

Closed circuit television (CCTV) coverage of the bank premises is being scanned in a bid to find the accused who have not yet been arrested, the police said.
