A 45-year-old woman from West Bengal

was allegedly raped by an unidentified man, who lured her to his residence promising her a job soon after she got down at Dadar railway station, police said today.

The victim came out from the eastern exit of Dadar railway station on Monday at around 5 AM, where the accused spotted her.

"He struck a conversation with her Bengali and promised her a job and a place to stay. He then went away for a while, before returning with another friend in a taxi. Then they drove towards a slum in Parel, which we suspect is his residence," an officer at Matunga police station said.

"There was another woman there who suggested her to take a bath. The victim went to the bathroom, where the unidentified man allegedly raped her," the officer said.

On Monday evening, the accused brought the victim to the foot over bridge at Dadar station where she managed to give them the slip. Later, the victim was spotted sobbing by a few hawkers.

The woman told the police that she was raped after which they took her to the Dadar government railway police. An FIR was registered by Dadar railway police and then the case transferred to the Matunga police station late on Monday, police said.
