A 50-year old woman was beaten to death, allegedly by her in-laws, at Pingla in West Midnapore, a senior police officer said today.
Four people - identified as Mangal Hansda, Haripada Hansda, Gurupada Hasnda and Sumi Hansda - were arrested in connection with the recovery of body of Rani Hansda, whose body was found from a pond near the in-laws' residence today.
Police said it was suspected Rani (50) was beaten up following a quarrel by the accused and her body dumped in the nearby waterbody.
