Angry at doctors who allegedly left a towel in a woman's womb 20 months ago during a caesarean delivery, her family members staged a protest at a private hospital here today.

Abizer Maheshwarwala, a resident of Khatiwala Tank area said that his wife Farida (26) had delivered a baby boy on March 15, 2013.

"After surgery, my wife complained of stomach pain," he told reporters who reached the private hospital.

After her pain became unbearable, she was rushed to another private hospital and a sonography revealed a towel in her stomach, which was surgically removed on November 7.

Abizer demanded that doctors who left the towel should be punished and the private hospital should compensate them.
