Woman's hacked body found

A 25-year-old woman was

hacked to death at Ghorabandha, on the outskirts of the steel city, police today said.

The police recovered the body, with throat slit by a sharp weapon, in the morning from a bush on being informed by the passers-by, police said.

Police said quoting the woman's parents that the victim Namita Patro had been living with her parents in Gorabandha after her relations with husband Raju Tanti soured.

Tanti, a resident of adjoining Seraikela-Kharswan district, had reportedly come to meet her yesterday, police said adding efforts were on to track him.

The body has been sent for post-mortem in MGM Hospital.
