Woman says forced out of house over dowry

A woman in Etah in Uttar Pradesh has accused her husband of harassing and forcing her out of their house after she refused to heed to his demands for dowry.

Noorjahan in her police complaint has alleged that her husband tortured her for dowry.

She said there was no demand of dowry when she married Kasim. But after the marriage, he began to harass her and yesterday forced her out their house.

In another incident in the city, a woman, identified as Rama Devi, 70, died after she was hit by a tempo.

She was hit by the vehicle while she was crossing a road.
 

The driver of the tempo managed to escape.
