A woman was set on fire allegedly by her neighbour's family over a land dispute in Salahpur village in Qadian police station area today.
The victim's husband, Major Singh, in a police complaint alleged that he had a land dispute with his neighbour Fuman Singh, and last night he came to his house and attacked him, following which he filed a police complaint.
Annoyed with the complaint, Fuman along with his wife and three others came to his house today and asked the family to to withdraw their complaint, but when they did not agree, they poured kerosene on Major's wife and set her on fire.
The victim, Nirmal Kaur, was rushed to Civil Hospital Batala, from where she was referred to a hospital in Amritsar.
Police have registered a case and search is on to nab the accused.
