A woman was allegedly sexually assaulted by her father-in-law and husband at Aliganj area in the district, police said here today.
According to the FIR, the victim's in-laws used to harass and torture her for dowry. Tired of the harassment, she left their house, went to live at her parent's house in Aliganj, police said.
The woman was sexually assaulted by her father-in-law and husband on August 11 when they had come to visit her, police said.
SHO, Aliganj police station, Indresh Kumkar Bhadoria, said case against the two accused was registered yesterday only as the victim submitted the complaint late.
The matter is being investigated and no arrest has been made so far, SHO added.
