Woman shoots husband over domestic row, arrested

A 20-year-old woman today allegedly shot her husband, leaving him seriously injured, over a petty domestic issue, police said here. The incident took place near Khajrana dargah in the city. Sonu alias Nazia had a quarrel with her husband Asif (27) over there being no food and LPG refill in their house for the last two days, Khajrana police station officer Prakash Chandra Dawar said. Following the row, the woman pumped a bullet from a countrymade pistol in her husband's head and locked the house from inside. Later, the neighbours called the police who then got the door opened and rushed Asif to MY hospital, where his condition was stated to be critical, Dawar said. Subsequently, Nazia was arrested and the weapon used in the crime was seized, police said During interrogation, the woman, besides referring to the domestic quarrel, also alleged that her husband was trying to lure her younger sister with a bad intention, police said. Nazia is Asif's second wife, while his first wife lived separately, he said. Asif is a driver and owns two mini-trucks. In another incident of domestic row, a man was arrested for allegedly stabbing his son when his daughter-in-law delayed cooking meal at Niranjanpur area here last night, police said. The victim, Ashok (28), was rushed to MY hospital where his condition was stated to be serious, they said. The accused, Prabhulal, was arrested, police said.
