Woman shot at in Muzaffarnagar

A married woman was allegedly shot at when she had gone to collect water from a public hand pump at Kaserwa Khurd village in Shamli district, police said today.

The incident took place yesterday when Samina had gone to collect water along with one Hina following which a fight broke out over collection of water, they said.

After a heated argument, Hina's brother Arif shot at Samina, police said.

The victim was seriously injured and shifted to a hospital, they said, adding that the accused is absconding.

In another incident, a 55-year-old woman was allegedly attacked with sharp weapons by some unidentified persons in the district, police said.
 

The incident took place yesterday when Ishwari had gone to collect grass from the fields following which some people opposed and attacked her, they said.

Police has registered a case against two persons in this connection and the seriously injured woman has rushed been to a hospital.
