Woman shot at in Vivek Vihar by biker youth

A 26-year-old woman was shot at and injured today in Vivek Vihar area when she attempted to foil two unidentified youth riding a motorcycle to snatch a chain from a 32-year-old woman, police said.

The victim, Komal Malhotra, a resident of Jhilmil Colony, was shot at at around 9:30 am when she tried to foil the chain snatching bid in front of her house, they said.

The duo were trying to snatch the chain of a Anshu Bhasin, a resident of nearby area, when she was returning home after putting her child into a schoolbus.

Seeing the incident, Komal intervened and tried to rescue the woman with her broom but was later shot in the scuffle, they said.
 

She has been admitted to Mauyra Hospital.

An FIR has been filed under relevant sections of the IPC, police said.
